Lani... when you think of her, it’s often the cheeky smile and loud infectious laugh that comes to mind. Inspired by hardworking & determined parents, her goal was to always do well and make them proud. Academically challeged, she managed to succeed. But despite achieving her academic goals and having worked her way up through her chosen media consultancies... she still felt reluctant to recognise her own worth, that she would instantly see in others.

Emotionally troubled in her late-teens and early-20s she was always seen to be composed, but inside she battled. Growing up as an only-child made her dependent on supporting herself through the issues. She saw a lot back then which led to a lot of heartache. Through her inner strength and spirituality she bounced back. Her solace was found in music which in her time of need was her open arms. The discovery of a new ‘self’ reincarnated her path to the future. Travelled further than she imagined, aspirations fulfilled and most of all loved to the fullest. A loyal daughter, wife, mother and most of all friend... she would always be there for those close to her.

What I will remember the most about Lani was her optimism, honesty and fun personality. Everything had a silver lining, even if you didn’t see it she’d make you see it. Even in her passing she would hope that you would be smiling and remembering the good times with her. But most of all know that though life was short it was most certainly sweet.
